“Hi! My name is Livia and I love design and photography which I've been doing for most of my life. I ♥ Canon cameras; Apple Macs; dabbling in Adobe Creative Suite software; and wrangling XHTML, CSS, basic PHP and Wordpress. Comic Sans and Papyrus fonts scare me. I ♥ eating out with friends. I really suck at cooking but am trying, thanks to watching Masterchef. I really ♥ camels (yes, yes, I know what you are thinking). Have you figured out what 'Chamelle' means yet? According to some silly online quiz I am a 'hippie'. I believe in environmental sustainability, and like meditation and yoga (when I get around to doing it) so I guess it must be right ;) This blog contains bits and pieces about my life and work. Hope you enjoy reading it, glad you made it this far. Please drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you!

I’ve been buying Peppermint mag, “Australasia’s first eco fashion mag” since it first came out several months ago. They are up to issue #3 now. It’s a new-ish Australian magazine focusing on home-made fashion, design, arts and crafts. It has somewhat of a ‘hippie’ or ‘indie’ vibe. It is similar to Frankie, but I like it much more. For one thing, it’s printed on recycled paper which I go gaga over. Being a bit of a greenie at heart, I am loving anything printed on matt, recycled paper! Besides, it just looks and feels nicer than cheap, glossy paper.
Speaking of matt recycled paper, I also got idpure magazine, “The Swiss magazine of graphic design and visual creation” (issue #19) from my local Borders (which, luckily for me, seems to stock almost every art/design/craft/interiors/fashion magazine available.. at least those written in English). It is a Swiss graphic design magazine and I love that it’s written in both French and English. It is very pricey (being air freighted and all, and heck, anything from Switzerland is bound to be expensive) so it is definitely a one-off splurge for me. Half the magazine is printed on matt, recycled paper and half is printed on super glossy high quality thick paper which makes the pages look almost like photos. There are some really really beautiful examples of design in there, not just graphical but also 3D objects and installations, etc.

Spring certainly is in the air and the shops are full of swimwear, 2010 diaries, and Christmas decorations already! . Where did 2009 go?
I checked out some of the lovely bikinis in Myer by Australian designer Bond-Eye but can’t find many pics of the newer ranges online. I love the designs/patterns of their fabric and the fun, happy colours!. Who needs boring, depressing black when you’ve been wearing that colour all through winter? Here are some of their designs:
